Job Summary You will be a key part of the industrial hygiene team by assisting in a variety of environmental and industrial hygiene field activities, which may include asbestos, lead-based paint, construction air monitoring, and inspections for site activities. You will be expected to take initiative in various projects assigned to you by your supervisor. Under supervision, you will perform a variety of industrial hygiene and environmental consulting services. An ideal candidate should be an individual who is self-motivated; this “hands-on” position requires strong analytical and communication skills to identify and communicate potential issues when necessary. Through on-the-job training and certification courses, field technicians gain knowledge regarding state and federal regulations and in turn perform air monitoring and conduct surveys. We are hiring for all levels. Certified asbestos consultants (CAC), certified site surveillance technicians (CSST), lead sampling technicians, or CA DHS lead inspectors/assessors are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities and Duties Conduct site inspections, surveys, and oversight activities for asbestos, lead, and industrial hygiene projects. Collect air and bulk samples for laboratory analysis. Daily travel throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Prepare daily logs of site activities and provide photo documentation and diagrams. Input data in Microsoft Word and Excel. Communicate with clients via emails and phone conversations. Effective and quick communication with internal staff. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills Minimum High School Diploma/GED. No experience required - will train. Valid driver’s license. Reliable means of transportation. Ability to pass a respirator physical. Ability to work long hours; including nights and weekends. Ability to carry and use a ladder and use basic tools and equipment. Must be able to lift and carry 40lbs. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as hard hats, ear plugs, safety glasses, respirators, steel-toed boots, and fall protection harnesses. Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in an outdoor environment.
