ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Hut 8, you will contribute to high-impact projects throughout your term. Your efforts will help to advance real solutions to real challenges faced in the design, development, and production of future generation products of Hut 8. This role will report to the Senior Mechanical Engineer and collaborate with other teams to design and support multi-disciplinary projects across the full project lifecycle.​

Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:​

• Primarily, you will assist in product design by using 3D modeling software and maintaining existing models.​
• Use engineering principles and fundamentals to provide novel solutions for technically challenging problems in the Internship focus area of Structural and Mechanical Design.​
• Creating system design plans from engineering concepts​
• Develop solutions for design problems; Create and review part drawings​

ABOUT YOU

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Engineering Science.​
• Cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.​
• Strong interest in engineering design and development across multiple domains.​
• At least 1 year of experience with 3D CAD modeling tools such as Autodesk Inventor; familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.​
• Minimum 1 year of prototyping experience, along with working knowledge of various manufacturing methods and their applications.​
• Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and drafting best practices.​
• Exposure to the design and analysis of structural and mechanical systems.​
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team and build strong working relationships.​
• Demonstrated experience influencing stakeholders and achieving alignment on business objectives.​
• Track record of personal accountability, integrity, and respect for others, the company, and oneself.​
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to support team cohesion and successful project execution.​
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with diverse groups and individuals.​
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines, while contributing to inclusive and cooperative teams.​
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

ABOUT THE WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is remote and will be based out of Dallas, Texas. Since this is an internship, the position will conclude on December 20, 2025, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role upon successful completion.
